4/29

Jillian's family has asked me to thank every single one of you for all your help and prayers their way. It has been 8 weeks to the day since our accident on March 4th and Jill still remains in a coma in Aurora, Colorado. Although 2 months seems like a long time for us that are waiting for her, it really isn't for Jillian; as comas can take a great while to come out of. It is still too early to make an exact prognosis, however, there are baby steps being made daily. About a week ago the swelling went up in Jill's head again. A simple surgery was done by puting a shunt (like a drain) through one of her veins that runs from her head to her stomach so the fluid can drain out of her head. Sounds awful I know, but it was successful and is doing it's job and the swelling has come down tremendously. The doctors are waiting for Jill to be "more stable" (meaning her blood pressure, heart rate and temperature evens out more) before they move her back to Arizona. As some of you know, Jillian will be flown home on a medical plane back to AZ when her body heals up a bit more. They are hoping this will be able to take place within the next couple weeks. She had the wires taken out of her mouth this past weekend which was holding her jaw in place after all the surgeries, and her parents say she's able to yawn now and just seems less agitated. I wish I had more encouraging news for all of you but it's on Jill's timing now. The Groh's had a bunch of visitors in Denver this past weekend including Jillians sister and good friends from Arizona. She opens her eyes quite a bit but still isn't responding to commands yet which is what we ultimately need her to do. What all of us can do now is to continue praying for beautiful Jill. If anyone would like to send anything to Jillian or her family you can send to our apartment at:

Please remember that they will most likely only be in CO till the end of May. I'll post her Arizona address when she goes home. If you have any other question go ahead and email me whenever at: jpaisal@gmail.com. Again, please keep Jill and her family in your thoughts and prayers continuously. Thanks so much....... -Jackie
