Update 6/5
Hi everyone.... I just wanted to tell you guys about this site that the Mayo Clinic has set up for Jillian. One of Janelle's friends is posting updates more frequently that I'm able to so I thought it would be a really good place for you all to be checking and keeping up to date with. The site is called carepages.com and all you have to do is sign up with a user name and password. You'll be able to get emails sent to you each time there is a new update on Jill, that way you'll never miss a post! when you search for the patients name be sure to type in jilliangroh, without any spaces. Please keep Jill and her family on your mind and in your prayers........-Jackie

Update 5/31/2007
Jill's back in Arizona as of a couple days ago! Janelle says the flight went really well, and they are very happy with the new hospital that Jill is staying in. Apparently it's real nice and new and the entire floor is designated to brain trauma patients. It sounds like Jill will be getting the best possible care, which makes her family feel so comfortable with the new place:) As far as any new updates on Jillian's health, there still isn't much "new stuff" going on with her. The doctors have told her mom that there has been "extensive injuries" to Jill's head, but they are going to try do everything they can to help her heal. It's been almost 13 weeks now and Jill needs your prayers more than ever. I feel like situations that are so out of our control, like this, force us to lean more and more onto God, and let Him take direction. Much easier said than done, I know! But, please keep praying for Jill... we KNOW she can do this.
As far as the auction goes, our apartment decided to put all the items donated on ebay, as it will make more money and probably be more successful. There has been so much stuff donated, THANK YOU to everyone who sent things!!!!! You are so amazing!! On Saturday, my apartment will be selling lunch and drinks at the pool for her family so definitely come if you can!!! A few people have asked for directions to mapquest, the address is:
14314 E. Princeton Pl.
Aurora, CO 80014.
Lunch will be around noon! I'll be back in Colorado around 3 to start moving out of our apartment... I'm looking forward to seeing alot of you! Once all the items get listed, I'll put the site on here. Also, I'll get Jillian's new address on here soon so you guys can send cards, etc. Thanks again. -Jackie

Update 5/11
Jill had her surgery at 9am this morning and it was successful and she's doing well. Her mom told me that the Dr. explained that Jillian does have "alot of damage" done to her brain, but it is still too early to give any sort of prognosis right now. He's was hoping to see more responses from Jill by now but thinks that since the flap is back on, hopefully her body will be able to start healing a little bit better. If all goes well this week and Jill stays stable, then they are planning on moving her back to AZ at the end of next week. Please continue to keep her in your prayers, God's always listening! -jackie

Update 5/7
Hi guys, I've been talking to Jill's parents over the last week and I wish there was more to put in this update. Basically, there is a surgery planned for this Friday to have the skull flap put back on Jill's head. (It's just the area they had to remove initially to reduce the swelling.) The only condition is that her vitals and temperature remain stable throughout the week, so lets keep our fingers crossed! Once the surgery is completed is when they can move her back to Arizona. Everyone is really hoping to have her moved in the next week or two. Jillian's parents packed up our apartment over the weekend and her dad drove back to Arizona today to take all her stuff home. He's planning on being back in Colorado by Friday in time for the surgery. Please continue to keep Jillian in your prayers for a successful surgery..... Hopefully this week will go well for her so she'll be able to have it.
The auction for Jill and her family will be on Saturday, June 2nd at our apt. clubhouse in Aurora, CO. We've already had a bunch of people donate things which is awesome, THANK YOU!!! I'll post a full detailed outline of directions and times and stuff like that, in the next couple days. So mark your calendars for the 2nd!! -Jackie

Fundraiser for Jillian
Hey you guys.... So my apartment complex came up with an excellent idea to help out Jillian and her family and we REALLY would like your help! We're going to get companies to donate stuff to do a silent auction. 100% of the money raised will go to Jill's family. My dad is going to donate golf stuff and my mom is going to put in some dental stuff (she's a dental hygienist so dental people you gotta come!) and I have a friend throwing in snowboard things too. If any of you know of anything you could donate to us, that would be so awesome. Even the smallest things will make a huge difference. And if you live in Denver, PLEASE come!! We are still working on the exact date, but it will be held at our apartment Club House in the next few weeks. My friend Casey will be collecting all the items donated so again, if anyone has any great ideas PLEASE let me know. I don't want anybody to feel obligated in any way, I've just had alot of you ask how you could help, and this seems like such a good chance to lend our support to The Groh's. The address to send items is:
Casey Unitt
4178 S. Crystal Ct. #1412
Aurora, CO 80014
I will get the exact date and a list of all the items being donated in the next few days, thanks so much you guys. -Jackie

4/29
Jillian's family has asked me to thank every single one of you for all your help and prayers their way. It has been 8 weeks to the day since our accident on March 4th and Jill still remains in a coma in Aurora, Colorado. Although 2 months seems like a long time for us that are waiting for her, it really isn't for Jillian; as comas can take a great while to come out of. It is still too early to make an exact prognosis, however, there are baby steps being made daily. About a week ago the swelling went up in Jill's head again. A simple surgery was done by puting a shunt (like a drain) through one of her veins that runs from her head to her stomach so the fluid can drain out of her head. Sounds awful I know, but it was successful and is doing it's job and the swelling has come down tremendously. The doctors are waiting for Jill to be "more stable" (meaning her blood pressure, heart rate and temperature evens out more) before they move her back to Arizona. As some of you know, Jillian will be flown home on a medical plane back to AZ when her body heals up a bit more. They are hoping this will be able to take place within the next couple weeks. She had the wires taken out of her mouth this past weekend which was holding her jaw in place after all the surgeries, and her parents say she's able to yawn now and just seems less agitated. I wish I had more encouraging news for all of you but it's on Jill's timing now. The Groh's had a bunch of visitors in Denver this past weekend including Jillians sister and good friends from Arizona. She opens her eyes quite a bit but still isn't responding to commands yet which is what we ultimately need her to do. What all of us can do now is to continue praying for beautiful Jill. If anyone would like to send anything to Jillian or her family you can send to our apartment at:
Bill and Janelle Groh
14314 E. Princeton Pl. #321
Aurora, CO 80014
Please remember that they will most likely only be in CO till the end of May. I'll post her Arizona address when she goes home. If you have any other question go ahead and email me whenever at: jpaisal@gmail.com. Again, please keep Jill and her family in your thoughts and prayers continuously. Thanks so much....... -Jackie
